About

With over 100 million plays worldwide, UK-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Arrowsmith (aka Jack Arrowsmith) has made a clear presence in the neo-classical genre. His work has been supported on various editorial playlists and featured on national television multiple times. In 2023, Arrowsmith supported Penguin Cafe on their winter UK tour.

Jack has always felt connected to the world of neo-classics, listening to serene music from a young age. Classically trained as a flautist from the age of seven, Jack continued to refine his craft, teaching himself piano throughout his younger years. In his mid-teenage years, he discovered a new venture—music production—that would go on to inspire his love for audio creation. Soon after this, he began studies in music production at college level and then went on to study at Leeds College of Music, earning a bachelor’s degree in Music Production followed by a master’s degree in Musicianship. In 2019, Jack was presented with the MPG Gus Dudgeon Award as one of the leading students to graduate that year.

Jack now works out of his Devon-based studio on a variety of projects with local and international clients.

Jack’s time studying the art of audio capture has greatly influenced his style of playing, and his unique tone can be heard across all of his projects and recordings. In 2021, he traveled to a northwest coastline beach in the UK with his Una Corda piano (Vincent). There, he composed and captured a live recording of Runswick in one take, with the production including ambient sounds of the ocean.

In 2024, Arrowsmith released his debut album. Memoirs from Vincent is an ode to the piano that marked the beginning of his journey in releasing original compositions. The small, broken piano, which fit in his car, accompanied him everywhere and inspired many of the pieces he has composed to date. In November 2022, Vincent became unplayable, prompting Arrowsmith to purchase a new piano, which features on this recording. Although Vincent was not the instrument used for the album, it remained in the room, witnessing the creation of every sound.

In a world filled with chaos and a pace that knows no end, Jack’s unique approach to composition encourages listeners to discover solace and tranquillity as each song unravels a world of emotion that is entirely open to interpretation.
